Bill Johnson Statement on PTTGCA Tax Agreements

Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after PTTGCA Global Chemical America and Daelim Corporation and the Belmont County commissioners, Mead Township trustees, and the Shadyside Board of Education approved tax agreements which would result in significant payments for the county, township, and school district should the proposed ethane cracker plant proceed:

Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after PTTGCA Global Chemical America and Daelim Corporation and the Belmont County commissioners, Mead Township trustees, and the Shadyside Board of Education approved tax agreements which would result in significant payments for the county, township, and school district should the proposed ethane cracker plant proceed:

“If the ethane cracker in Belmont County moves forward, which I fully expect it will, significant revenue will flow to schools and local government services. So, not only will the project create both good-paying permanent jobs and thousands of construction jobs, local residents, particularly students and educators, will see a direct benefit. All signs point to this project moving forward, and I will continue to do everything in my power to bring it to fruition.”
