Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Democrats and President Trump have reached an agreement on the new NAFTA deal called USMCA:

After months of pressure from House Republicans and President Trump, Speaker Pelosi finally announced today that the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) deal is ready to be ratified. President Trump signed the USMCA deal over a year ago, and instead of working quickly to approve this deal, House Democrats have been wasting their time passing partisan bills and focusing on their impeachment inquiry.

Make no mistake, USMCA is good news for the American people and the American worker. Reports estimate that it will create over 170,000 new jobs and will add over $60 Billion to our GDP in just six years.  It will also bring our trade policy with our neighbors into the 21st century. President Trump and Ambassador Robert Lighthizer deserve the credit for delivering this deal for all Americans. I look forward to supporting this deal when it is brought to the House floor.
