Representative Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the 2018 Fiscal Year budget:

“Today's action keeps the House on track to approving historic tax reform that will mean more jobs, lower taxes, and bigger take-home paychecks for families all across Eastern and Southeastern Ohio.

“The budget process is not easy - it never has been. And, this budget certainly isn't perfect; I preferred the original version from the House. However, I refuse to let perfect be the enemy of good. The budget I voted for today (H. Con. Res. 71) starts the process of putting America on a realistic, sustainable, and responsible fiscal path. Just as importantly, today's budget passage is the mechanism that triggers the tax reform process - one that will result in tremendous relief for middle class families. Because of that, it was very easy to cast a YES vote this morning.”
