Congressman Bill Johnson made a trip to Jackson Monday to serve lunch to local veterans.

Johnson stopped by AMVETS Post 804 located at 232 Broadway Street to not only serve the veterans lunch, but to address any concerns the veterans might have about the future of Jackson County and the nation in general.

This is one more act to fulfill his pledge of volunteering 100 hours this year to veterans across Ohio. Johnson has visited and played board games with veterans at a Salem nursing facility, cleaned military equipment in advance of the Memorial Day ceremony in Smithfield, wrote letters with students to Lawrence County students, and placed U.S. flags at grave sites of veterans buried in Athens County.

Johnson is a big supporter of veterans and veterans issues since he served over 26 years in the U.S. Air Force.
