Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the following statement after the United States Supreme Court temporarily blocked one of the key rules in President Obama’s War on Coal:

The Supreme Court temporarily blocking a key part of President Obama’s War on Coal is good news for Ohio’s coal families. A majority of the court's justices have serious concerns with the so-called ‘Clean Power Plan’; they understand the impacts the rule would have, and saw a probable unconstitutional executive order that attacks hard working families and that won’t have a meaningful impact on global carbon emissions. The rule should be struck down permanently before coal country is destroyed, and before the American people are forced to fork over more of their hard-earned money to pay their electric bills. This is only a temporary victory, but I am now hopeful and more confident that a full judicial review will result in the same finding.
