Nearly two-thirds of America's jobs are created by small businesses.

That's while they deal with a growing number of federal regulations.

Sixth District Ohio Congressman Bill Johnson Wednesday addressed a local meeting of the National Federation of Independent Businesses.

He says those regulations-coming out at a rate of ten every day-.take two trillion dollars out of the nation's economy.

"It is an out-of-control situation in Washington, D.C.," Johnson said. "That $2 trillion doesn't add anything to a company's bottom line, it doesn't produce a product, it doesn't hire an employee, it doesn't generate revenue. It's a tax on business."

Johnson told us he's concerned about the latest proposed federal regulations on methane emissions, mainly coming from natural gas and oil.

He says they could have the same effect on the drilling industry, emissions guidelines for coal-fired power plants have had on the coal industry.
