Representative Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) issued the following statement after the House passed H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Disclosure Act of 2013:

“As a father of 4 and a grandfather of 6, there is no doubt in my mind that life begins at conception.  I’m honored to be a member of the House Pro-Life Caucus, and I will never relent in my commitment to protect the right of all Americans – both the born and unborn,” Bill Johnson said.

“The legislation passed by the House today would prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions or to pay for health plans that cover abortions.  The bill also prohibits tax credits, and cost-sharing subsidies authorized under Obamacare, from being granted for health plans that include elective abortion coverage.   I was proud to vote in favor of this bill, and I will continue working to  protect the lives of the unborn.  I urge my Senate colleagues to consider this meaningful legislation as soon as possible.”
