Rep. Bill Johnson (OH-6) issued the following statement in response to a top IRS official invoking her Fifth Amendment privilege in a hearing today:

"Ms. Lerner took the Fifth earlier today, while she and her agency take a third – as much as a third -- of the income of hard-working Americans every year. It seems hypocritical that Ms. Lerner has asked to remove herself from Congressional hearings, while millions of Americans do not get the choice to remove themselves from the heavy-handed treatment, and possibly criminal actions, of this rogue agency."
