Bill Johnson Statement on the Supreme Court's Health Care Decision
Washington, D.C.,
Jun 28, 2012 -
Congressman Bill Johnson (R-Marietta) released the
following statement today responding to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to
leave President Obama’s health care law intact.
“The Supreme Court’s decision to leave President Obama’s
takeover of health care intact is deeply disappointing. This disastrous law is
full of broken promises covered in empty political rhetoric that continue to
make our economy worse. Over 40% of small businesses are saying that this law
is keeping them from hiring and expanding. The cost of this law has surged to
almost $2 trillion and doctors are ALREADY limiting the number of patients they
are seeing,” said Bill Johnson.
Johnson added, “Today’s ruling underscores the urgency
with which Congress must act to prevent this massive tax increase from hitting
hardworking families who are already suffering as a result of many of the
President’s policies. This ruling also means that ObamaCare’s $500 billion
Medicare cut will be enacted. I remain committed to repealing this
government takeover of health care which will now shift personal medical
decisions from patients and their doctors to unelected and unaccountable
bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.”
